Works well, but is not pretty. Needs a 9V battery, which is not mentioned in description. January 17, 2009 Two kids mom (NM United States) 29 out of 29 found this review helpful
I have two of these. One I use in my pantry, connected to a regular clip on light. The light turns on when you open the door, and off a minute after you close it. Now my kids no longer leave the light on in there all night.
The second is mounted to an outside light. Its pretty ugly with the coil hanging out of the bottom but it is MUCH easier to aim a motion detector that is separate from the light so that it is not set off by trees, animals etc.
You can set this to 4 options with small switches underneath. Your options are night only, day and night, and 1 or 10 minute shutoff after motion. It needs a 9V battery. The one in my pantry lasts about a year, being turned on and off at least 5 times a day. If it starts acting erratic you probably need to replace the battery.
The sensor has a small plastic ball on the back that mounts into a socket that is on the plate you attach to the wall. One of my plastic balls did snap off eventually and I had to putty it back on.
I do use it with a compact florescent bulb and it works fine.
Excellent Value For Money January 7, 2009 S. Fernandes (NJ, U.S.A) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I looked at a lot of products that could allow me to use my existing light fixture on my front porch to be motion activated. This motion sensor is excellent. It can be installed with an existing fixture and you do not need to do any wiring. The range of detection is also very good and amazingly does not get trigerred with the movement of tree branches on windy days/nights. The product allows for day/night/24 hour setting and allows you to set how long the light will remain on (10 mins/1min).
The only drawback is that this sensor does not support energy saver bulbs, but then most motion sensor's dont

great product when you get home and trying to find your keys for the door in the dark.

Product is exactly as stated. I am using one as a lamp sensor and it is doing just what I need it to do. It is used to monitor motion at a door and it turns on the lamp when someone passes in front of the door. Well pleased with this item. Howard WV
Works great October 22, 2009 Benjamin Collins (Allentown, PA, USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The distance that this motion sensor detects motion is crazy. At times it's almost a pain because it's picking up someone walking in front of a house 2 houses down.
It's easy to install and configure.
It's bulky and will most definitely make your bulb stick out of the top or bottom of your receptacle.

We ended up using a paper clip to hang the sensor from the siding on the house, as the motion sensor box is too heavy for double sided tape, and I'm not screwing into the siding.
